Twas The Night At HIC

Twas the night before Christmas
But the merriment had ceased.
For everyone had some pie
But it wasn’t a feast.

They wondered what was missing
For dry it did seem.
Then they put it together,
It was the Hershey’s® Ice Cream!

How could they’ve forgotten
The most crucial part?
For now the meal is incomplete!
They should have known from the start!

They dashed to the store
To find what they could,
But all stores were closed,
As on Christmas they should.

So they went to a parlor,
To get some hand-packed.
But all flavors were gone!
For the store was ransacked.

Then in an act of desperation,
They came to the HIC Plant.
Knocking for an answer,
For waiting longer they can’t.

Then to their surprise,
The door made a creak!
For a someone was there,
So inside they did sneak.

When they came through the doors,
Their eyes saw such beauty.
For ice cream was abundant,
And many flavors were fruity!

They grabbed what they could,
Like a Pint and Stick Bar,
They were overwhelmed by the selection!
So glad they traveled far.

They grabbed what they could,
But left what they owed,
When they heard a voice from behind,
For then they were slowed.

“Leave nothing behind
And take what you need!
For it’s the Christmas Season,
There’s no room for greed.”

They turned towards the voice,
But no one was there,
For he vanished in time,
As if he came from thin air.

They arrived back home,
From their journey away,
Full of delicious treats,
To add to the buffet.

Now the meal was complete,
And the spoons they did lick.
They then gave great thanks,
To the Ice Cream St. Nick.

Magic of Snow

When you’re a child, anything is possible. Whatever you imagine is somehow in itself true. Can you remember how it felt when you saw snow falling to the ground? It was a winter wonderland! You’re surrounded by a cloud of white that transforms the world around you.

Once you grow up, that winter wonderland turns into an annoying hindrance from cleaning off your car, shoveling your driveway, and being stuck in traffic. That pure moment you once treasured is lost from the busyness we face in our day to day lives. The question is, can we ever get that moment back?

The answer is yes! Here at Hershey’s® Ice Cream, we believe in creating every moment we can make you stop and appreciate the finer things in life. All we can do is make delicious ice cream to share with your friends and family, but it’s up to you to appreciate those moments and live them to the fullest!

The next time it snows, don’t get frustrated because of the added work you see ahead of you, but look at it as a moment to stop, and appreciate it for making you slow down and enjoy what you have been blessed with in life.

What do you appreciate about your life this holiday season?

Vote For Your HIC Flavor Candidate!

It’s that time where we cast our ballots and choose who we’d like to take office. One party versus the other. Controversy on subjective matters and trying to make a difference in our country. That’s right folks, it’s time to vote on what Hershey’s® Ice Cream flavor you think should take office. Let’s take a look at the candidates and where they stand on the issues.

Vanilla -Simplicity is key. I’m what this country’s ice cream was founded on. I’m proud to be traditional in my ways, but varied enough to be loved by many. I not only am delicious enough to stand on my own, but am versatile to work with other desserts of all parties.

Chocolate – I believe everyone should have the right to creamy sweetness! When it comes to dessert, I believe in equal portions for all. The more scoops the merrier. I will give a richness of flavor to all those who ask for it.

Green Mint Chip – I believe in the importance of green. Our earth’s flavors are important to me as long as their green. Our office needs a refreshing outlook on flavor, and I intend to bring exactly that to every spoonful.

So who will it be? Cast your vote now!

School Days School Days Back to Golden Rule Days

It’s that time of year again. Where kids put away their water guns and pick up their backpacks. Yes, it’s back to school once more! Some may be sad, some may be excited, but either way, there’s no avoiding that inevitable first day of class.

Even though it may be upsetting to see the summer end, we all remember the excitement of buying new school supplies like our trapper keepers, mechanical pencils, and notepads. Or look forward to that cafeteria lunch dessert (such as Hershey’s® Ice Cream Scooter Bar or Cookies N’ Cream Cone). It was the simple things that made us happy. All we truly had to worry about was finding our classrooms on time and claiming a seat in the lunchroom with the right crowd.

When we truly look back, why did we always dread going back to school? What made us so anxious and stressed? If you were anxious and stressed that is. Compare those times to today for those living out of the classroom. You didn’t have any bills, relationship issues, or major responsibilities in general. We should enjoy that time of bliss instead of rushing into the real world.

So if you are sending your kids back to the classroom, and they are complaining they don’t want to go, or wish they were all grown up, don’t forget to remind them how good they truly have it right now. They grow up fast. Enjoy this time and let them be kids and enjoy youth as much as possible.

What’s your favorite memory from school days?
