When you’re a child, anything is possible. Whatever you imagine is somehow in itself true. Can you remember how it felt when you saw snow falling to the ground? It was a winter wonderland! You’re surrounded by a cloud of white that transforms the world around you.
Once you grow up, that winter wonderland turns into an annoying hindrance from cleaning off your car, shoveling your driveway, and being stuck in traffic. That pure moment you once treasured is lost from the busyness we face in our day to day lives. The question is, can we ever get that moment back?
The answer is yes! Here at Hershey’s® Ice Cream, we believe in creating every moment we can make you stop and appreciate the finer things in life. All we can do is make delicious ice cream to share with your friends and family, but it’s up to you to appreciate those moments and live them to the fullest!
The next time it snows, don’t get frustrated because of the added work you see ahead of you, but look at it as a moment to stop, and appreciate it for making you slow down and enjoy what you have been blessed with in life.
What do you appreciate about your life this holiday season?
It’s that time where we cast our ballots and choose who we’d like to take office. One party versus the other. Controversy on subjective matters and trying to make a difference in our country. That’s right folks, it’s time to vote on what Hershey’s® Ice Cream flavor you think should take office. Let’s take a look at the candidates and where they stand on the issues.
Vanilla -Simplicity is key. I’m what this country’s ice cream was founded on. I’m proud to be traditional in my ways, but varied enough to be loved by many. I not only am delicious enough to stand on my own, but am versatile to work with other desserts of all parties.
Chocolate – I believe everyone should have the right to creamy sweetness! When it comes to dessert, I believe in equal portions for all. The more scoops the merrier. I will give a richness of flavor to all those who ask for it.
Green Mint Chip – I believe in the importance of green. Our earth’s flavors are important to me as long as their green. Our office needs a refreshing outlook on flavor, and I intend to bring exactly that to every spoonful.
So who will it be? Cast your vote now!
It’s that time of year again. Where kids put away their water guns and pick up their backpacks. Yes, it’s back to school once more! Some may be sad, some may be excited, but either way, there’s no avoiding that inevitable first day of class.
Even though it may be upsetting to see the summer end, we all remember the excitement of buying new school supplies like our trapper keepers, mechanical pencils, and notepads. Or look forward to that cafeteria lunch dessert (such as Hershey’s® Ice Cream Scooter Bar or Cookies N’ Cream Cone). It was the simple things that made us happy. All we truly had to worry about was finding our classrooms on time and claiming a seat in the lunchroom with the right crowd.
When we truly look back, why did we always dread going back to school? What made us so anxious and stressed? If you were anxious and stressed that is. Compare those times to today for those living out of the classroom. You didn’t have any bills, relationship issues, or major responsibilities in general. We should enjoy that time of bliss instead of rushing into the real world.
So if you are sending your kids back to the classroom, and they are complaining they don’t want to go, or wish they were all grown up, don’t forget to remind them how good they truly have it right now. They grow up fast. Enjoy this time and let them be kids and enjoy youth as much as possible.
What’s your favorite memory from school days?
How often do you use your imagination? It’s a wonderful magical thing – the stuff dreams are made of! So why don’t adults use it more? Maturity really takes a toll, the stress of life gets a hold of you and bills/deadlines and other “adult” things consume your life, but nothing can ever take away your ability to dream.
We all remember at least one special memory from the world of childhood. Maybe it was an entire house made out of cotton candy, or a tree house that was a castle, or maybe a bicycle that was a dragster. Whatever it was, you made it your own. You imagined something and it became real. The world is at your fingertips! With just a little imagination you could travel around the world and make your dreams come true without ever leaving home.
Lets be kids again, just for a little while. Here at Hershey’s® Ice Cream, we’ve decided that it’s not actually raining outside right now. We’ve imagined it’s cloudy with a chance of ice cream! It’s snowing our favorite flavor! How awesome would it be to stick a cone out of the door and have it fill up with whatever flavor you wanted?!!!!
So young or old, jump on the imagination train right now and let go. If you want to, share your journey with us!
Well it’s that time of year again when we get out our jerseys and root our NFL team on their journey to the Super Bowl. But what about all of us who’s team didn’t make it this year?
Yes, it would have been nice for the excitement of seeing your team reach the top and come out in victory, but isn’t it a bit stressful? Always having that week-long tension of anticipation for Sunday’s game. Smack talk from fans of the other team, and then there’s that last minute field goal to win by one. It’s enough to make you need anxiety medication!
So we would all agree that by choice, we’d want our team to keep going, but when they don’t, isn’t nice to be able to sit back, relax, and enjoy the playoff season? We aren’t saying you have to be glad they are out, just that it might be nice to finally be able to relax!
Who’s your team? Or if your team is done for the season, who do you want to see win…or lose?
The year 2011 is quickly coming to an end. It’s that time of year again, where everyone starts thinking of New Years resolutions (you know, those things you promise yourself at the start of a new year and forget about 2 weeks later). Well this year one of my resolutions is to stick to it – everyone knows cows are stubborn, and I’m here to prove it! My other resolution is to be happy no matter what, because my grass is green enough right where I am.
I was thinking about going on a diet, (those Florida cows are so skinny!) but I’m a full-figured gal and proud of it. Happy cows come from the North East! After all, my curves help contribute to the best tasting ice cream available.
2011 has been a wonderful year, full of rich memories, sweet grass, and mooing with good friends.
What’s your best 2011 memory? What are some of your resolutions?
If you’ve ever taken care of a child (or a whole herd!) you know that it’s about 10% knowledge and 90% luck. Kids can see right through even the sternest parent, but being a babysitter is even worse! They know you’re “not the boss of them” and that they can pretty much get away with murder.
“You really get brownies for breakfast?”
“Are you sure you’re allowed to pee on that?”
“Oh, your mom says you’re allowed to jump down the stairs with knives?
Ok, maybe that last one is a bit of a dramatization (depending on the child), but it’s true that all kids know how to bend the rules. It may seem like a hopeless problem, but the answer is simple. Ice cream. Babysitters everywhere rejoice! Whether it’s whining for something they want, complaining that something’s not good enough, or crying because their parents aren’t home – all roads lead to ice cream.
Not only does it make them happy (what kid doesn’t love ice cream?), it also creates a moment of blissful silence as they spoon their way through each scoop! Nothing else you’ve said or done that night, no disappointments or tantrums, will matter. You will forever be “the cool babysitter”. Then when the sugar high ends they crash, and the little angels are asleep in bed when their parents get home. The house is still in one piece, things are calm and peaceful… You are the ultimate babysitter.
What’s the craziest (or funniest) thing your kids ever did to you or a babysitter?
Alright parents, time to fess up. When feeding your kids, how many of you make the same motion or face your kids do while they eat? Why is that? Kids are fast learners, especially when it comes to food (remember, these are the little ones that eat you out of house and home!). Yet we all still do it.
It’s apparently one of our instincts, and not a common one among animals! Humans are the only species compelled to mimic their kids while feeding them. Which can be pretty funny to watch. But still, this begs the question, how did we adopt this behavior?
Eating is one of the things people do best. We’re all food lovers, and why shouldn’t we be? Food is delicious, it makes you feel good, and it brings people together. Why do you think they call it “comfort food”? Then again, it’s always fun to watch other people do this… So the next time you see a parent feeding their kid, check out their face. It’s always good for a laugh!
Do you mimic your kids when they eat?
People are creatures of habit. Once they’re comfortable with something, they stick to it. If they try something new, they usually end up going back to what they know they like. So how much does that apply to ice cream flavors?
Let’s say you’re a fan of vanilla. When faced with having to choose between over 100 different flavors how often do you fall back on that flavor? Now don’t get me wrong, vanilla is a wonderful flavor (and definitely one of our most popular!). But variety is the spice of life. Large selections can be confusing so why not try your favorite flavor with a twist? Hershey’s® uses great tasting inclusions (like peanut butter cups, maraschino cherries, fresh roasted nuts, and more) to spice up basic flavors.
So next time you’re buying ice cream why not try a scoop of something different – like our White House Cherry, Deep Dish Apple? You might be surprised how much you like other flavors… And hey, if you don’t, don’t worry. Your favorite flavor will always be waiting.
What’s your favorite ice cream flavor?
